The “open secret” in this highly competitive fashion industry is to always give your best at all times. The reason is, modeling is not about being beautiful. It is about creating something interesting for people to look at and think about.

Tell us about yourself.
My name is Yvonne Maame Yeboah Opoku Minta. I am a Biochemistry graduate from the University of Ghana and I started modeling in my 300 level as a university student. I love chocolates.
What do you love about modeling?
Modeling allows me to switch between identities within a short period. As you know, modeling is a form of acting. Becoming a model was inevitable for me.
What would you be if you weren’t a model?
I’d be a scientist.
What are your career goals in the fashion industry?
My goal is to become a household name in the modeling industry and ascend to the pinnacle of my career.
How would you define fashion?
Fashion is a way to be outstanding, yet identifiable by your style.
Tell us your best modeling experience.
Walking for Radiance Wedding Fair is one of the highlights of my career.
What is your favourite colour?
I don’t have a favourite colour. I like brown, dark blue and purple colours.
Have you attended any fashion shows in the past 3 months?
I walked for the just concluded Radiance Wedding Fair and at the Wax Print Festival.
Who is your fashion icon?
I would say Tyra Banks and Afua Rida.
What is your favourite food?
I love our indigenous (local) foods, nothing specific.
How often do you exercise or go to the gym?
I’ve never been to the gym. I just do most of my heavy lifting privately.
Who is your favourite designer?
Diva delicious. I usually don’t follow ‘brands’. I prefer individual fashion pieces.
In your opinion, what should every woman have in her wardrobe?
Every woman should have a nice collection of earrings and shoes. These item can make her seem over-dressed up or under-dressed.
Who inspires you the most?
I draw a lot of inspiration from the Holy Bible.
