What would the fashion industry look like without models? There would be no New York or Paris fashion week perhaps. We obviously won’t appreciate fashion as much as we do today without models…right?.
Our “Model in Focus” at the moment is a rising star..she’s very sleek and amiable. This amazing interview we had with her comes fully loaded with some personal things she revealed about herself for the first time. Read the full interview below.
Tell us about yourself.
My name is Njoku Laura Chidiebere. I’m 19 years old and I am an accounting student of the University of Port Harcourt. My hobbies are dancing, taking pictures and watching movies.
What do you love about modeling?
Modeling gives me “this confidence” especially whenever I’m in the spotlight or even in front of a camera.
What would you be, if you weren’t a model?
I would be a dancer. I’ve always loved dancing.
What are your career goals in the fashion industry?
My dream is for Laura Njoku to become a household name in the modeling industry. I also look forward to walking the runway alongside other super models.
How would you define fashion?
Fashion is one’s sense of style…when it comes to matching outfits properly with the appropriate accessories.
What was your best modeling experience so far?
I’d say Afro Street Fashion Festival which took place in December 2018 in the heart of Port Harcourt. It was an amazing one.
What is your favorite colour?
I love Purple colour so much. it symbolizes royalty.
Have you attended any fashion shows in the past 3 months?
No I haven’t.
Who is your fashion icon?
My fashion icon is Naomi Campbell.
What is your favorite food?
Fried yam and egg sauce.
How often do you exercise or go to the gym?
I exercise once in a while.
Who is your favourite designer?
My favourite designer is Nelly Tips.
In your opinion, what should every woman have in her wardrobe?
A designer’s perfume, a good wristwatch, jewelries, bags, shoes, the list just continues.

My mum inspires a lot, she’s my biggest support.
